Obituary for Warren H. Wilson

Warren H. Wilson, 94, of Tyrone passed quietly in his sleep Wednesday October 15, 2014 at UPMC, Altoona.

He was born July 30, 1920 in Williamsburg, a son of Warren McGarrah and Nettie (Hartsock) Wilson. On January 26, 1946 in Williamsburg he married Alice E. Watson.

Surviving are his wife, a son Barry of Puyallup, Washington, a daughter Geremy Tewell and husband Thomas of Wilmington, North Carolina, 3 grandchildren, Paul Wilson of Florida, Zach Tewell of Durham, North Carolina, Josh Tewell of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, 4 great-grandchildren, Michael Wilson and Stella, Asher and Marie-Claire Alice Tewell. He was preceded in death by a son Leonard, 3 brothers and a sister.

Mr. Wilson retired in 1985 from Westvaco, Tyrone as a machine operator following 40 years service.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict serving as a Staff Sergeant with the 331st Infantry. He was a Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient.

Warren was a great husband, dad and grandfather. He loved gardening, going out to dinner and tending to his flowers.
