Obituary for Richard M. Crowell

Richard M. Crowell, age 57, of Tyrone and a guest at Epworth Manor died Sunday, May 18, 2014 at the Manor. He was born December 30, 1956 in Tyrone, the son of Jules E. and Helen E. Hagerman Crowell. On August 8, 1981 he was married in Tyrone to Mary Weyer who survives. Also surviving are three sons – Jason (Jenn), Travis (Jessan) and Joshua (engaged to Annie) all of Tyrone and four grand-children – Deegan, Rylan, Draryn and Owen. Also surviving are siblings J. Ray Crowell, Grand Rapids, MI., Gary E. (Donna) Crowell, Camp Hill, PA; Rev. Larry A. (Debbie) Crowell, Columbus, OH, Thomas S. (Linda) Crowell, Altoona and Judy A. Crowell, New Cumberland, PA and step-sisters Pam, Michelle (deceased) and a step-brother Scott B.(Loretta) Dane, Tyrone.

Richard was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. He was a graduate of Tyrone Area High School Class of 1976. He had served in the U.S. Air Force and for the past 27 years had been employed in the Shipping Department of Kunzler & Company. Richard had been a member of the Boy Scouts and worked with the Scouts when his sons were active in scouting. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Funeral service for Richard M. Crowell will be Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. with Reverend Larry Crowell and Deacon Jack Hoffer officiating. Interment with Military Honors by the Tyrone Honor Guard will be in Bald Eagle Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7 to 9 PM.
