Obituary for Rheta S. Parker

Rheta Stonebraker Parker, age 81, of Tyrone died Sunday, October 2, 2016 at her residence. She was born July 20, 1935 in Tyrone, the Daughter of Glenn and Mabel Ross Stonebraker. On October 20, 1953 in Winchester, VA she was married to Gerald B. "Skip" Parker who survives. She is survived by three children, Christine Sue (Richard) Behrens, Rondalyn Kim (Steven) Young, both of Tyrone and Dr. Gerald Belmont Parker III of King of Prussia. Also surviving is one sister, Guinevere Brisbin, 12 grandchildren and 24 greatgrandchildren. Included in those are Joshua, Solomon and Eli Beyer, Andrea Schurr, Kellie Litz and Wesley Young. She was preceded by one brother, Glenn “Bud” Stonebraker and 3 sisters, Dotty A. Bougher and Katherine and Kathleen Stonebraker.
Mrs. Parker graduated from Tyrone High School in 1953 before continuing her education at Adele Allen’s Beauty School. After school she owned and operated Rheta’s Beauty Salon.
Mrs. Parker was a member of the Roseland Christian Fellowship Church in Glasgow. In her free time she enjoyed needlecraft, canning, reading and cooking but most importantly she enjoyed time spent with her family.
Friends will be received at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM and on Friday from 10 AM until the 11AM service at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. Private interment will be made in Bald Eagle Cemetery.
