Obituary for Norman E Huff

Reverend Norman E. Huff, age 84 of Tyrone died Friday, August 19, 2016 at Epworth Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was born June 18, 1932 in Lewistown, the son of William and Izetta Stewart Huff. On August 28, 1954 at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Ambler he was married to Anna Mae Good who survives. Also surviving are four children - Gary E. (Kimberly) Huff, Huntingdon, PA. D. Timothy (Kim) Huff, Glendale, AZ, Susan K. Daly, Tyrone and Deborah A. (Karl) Estright, Tipton and seven grandchildren, Lauren Huff, Lindsay (John) McCracken, Tyler (Courtney) Estright, Zachary Estright, Daron Daly, Emily Estright and Alesia Daly and one great-granddaughter, Korynne McCracken.

He was a graduate of Lewistown-Granville High School in 1952 and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Lycoming College and his Master of Sacred Theology degree from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC 1962. During his 62 years as a United Methodist pastor he served many congregations including Salladasburg, Tyrone, and Muncy. Following his retirement in 1994 the Huff’s returned to Tyrone and Norman continued to minister to the Tyrone. He was very active in the Tyrone community as a member of the Kiwanis Club, food bank, and served on the school board.

To all who knew and loved him, Norman will always be remembered for his hugs, his optimism and his beautiful voice. He had a kind word for everyone and could never say no. For him God and Family came first.

Funeral service for Reverend Huff will be Tuesday, August 23rd at 11 AM at Wesley United Methodist Church with Pastor Carl Schmidt officiating. Interment will be in Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood. Friends will be received at the church on Monday from 2 to 9 PM. Arrangements are under the care of the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc.
