Obituary for Norma Lee Wilson

Norma Lee Wilson, 83, of Tyrone and a guest at Epworth Manor died Monday, December 30,
2013 at the Manor. She was born August 11, 1930 at Homestead, PA, the daughter of William J. and
Sarah Lewis Bennett. On September 9, 1951 she was married at the Philipsburg Methodist Church to
Joseph D. Wilson Jr. He preceded her in death on October 16, 2012. She is survived by 2 sons and a
daughter – John (Renee) Wilson, Tyrone, Scott of Tyrone and Cathleen Allen of Hagerstown, MD, five
grandchildren – Sarah Wilson, Justin Wilson, Nicolas Ty Wilson, Corie Allen and Cameron Allen. She was
preceded in death by a son Douglas in 1959 and one brother, William M. Bennett.
She was a graduate of Philipsburg High School in 1948 and the Philipsburg Hospital School of
Nursing in 1951. She had been employed as a registered nurse in San Antonio, TX, at Healthsouth
Altoona and at the Altoona and Tyrone Hospitals, retiring in 1993.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, a member of the Red Hat Ladies and
enjoyed knitting, crocheting, camping at Glendale and being with her family and grandchildren.
A funeral service for Mrs. Wilson will be held Friday, January 3, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the
Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. with Deacon Jack Hoffer officiating. Interment will be made in
Blair Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM.
