Obituary for Marjorie L. Markel

Marjorie L. Markel, age 78, of Tyrone died Friday, November 13, 2015 at UPMC Altoona. She was born September 29, 1937 in Tyrone, the daughter of Gordon and Velda Crane Davis. On April 21, 1957 at the United Methodist Church, she was married to Ronald A. Markel Sr. who survives. Also surviving are three children – Ronald A. (Verna) Markel Jr, Barbara (Edwin) Sessamen and John J. (Candy) Markel, all of Tyrone and a brother and two sisters – Gordon Jr. (Darlene), Lansdale, PA, Carol (John) Heaton, Port Matilda and Joyce (Edward) Michael, Jersey Shore and seven grandchildren – Jessica, Megan, John Jr., Billy, Jeremy, Matthew and David, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded by three sisters, Barbara, Sue and Donna and two grandchildren.
She attended the Grazierville United Methodist Church, She was retired as a sewing machine operator from Big Yank.
Funeral service for Marjorie L. Markel will be Monday, November 16h at 2 PM at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. with Reverend Norman E. Huff officiating. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 12 noon until the 2 PM service.
