John F. Snyder, 64, of Bald Eagle suffered a heart attack and was suddenly called back to be in the service of our Lord Saturday March 1, 2014 at UPMC Altoona surrounded by his wife and daughter.
He was born September 30, 1949 in Philipsburg, a son of the late Fredrick Jackson Snyder and Marjorie Quarry. On August 30, 1969 in Bald Eagle he married Deborah Emigh.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, a daughter JoAnn Neff and husband Brian of Bald Eagle, a son Steve and wife Christy of Pinecroft, 5 grandchildren, Zach and Alaina Neff, Kara, Taylor and Loren Snyder, his mother Margie Snyder of Bald Eagle, 2 brothers, Jeff of Bald Eagle and Craig of Nealmont and a sister Janice Brown of Spruce Creek. He was preceded in death by his father Jack, mother-in-law Janet Emigh, father-in-law Bruce Emigh and a sister-in-law Cheryl Snyder.
Mr. Snyder retired on October 1, 2013 from Comcast Cable as maintenance technician following 45 year service.
He was a member of the Bald Eagle United Methodist Church.
John will be remembered for what he loved most, his family, fishing, hunting and trapping. Trapping was his passion and what he enjoyed most following retirement.
At the request of John there will be no public visitation. Burial will be at Bald Eagle Cemetery.
