Obituary for Geraldine M. Meredith

Geraldine M. Meredith, age 94, of Tyrone and a guest at Epworth Manor died Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the Manor with her husband at her side. She was born January 16, 1919 in Tyrone, the daughter of Charles and Ora Hardy and was raised in the Abbie Keefer home. She was twice married, first to Homer Shildt who preceded her in death and secondly on May 1, 1971 to John P. Meredith Sr. who survives. Also surviving is a step-son, Scott Meredith, Tyrone and a step-daughter Denise (Randy) Otto, Tacoma, WA, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren and a sister Loulla Little, Bald Eagle. She was preceded by two sons, Richard and Michael Shildt.
Geraldine was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed fishing and camping at Gallitzin, Raystown Lake and the Thousand Islands. She loved her dog Tootsie, graham cracker pie and peanut butter cookies. She was a graduate of Tyrone High School, Class of 1937 and, prior to retirement, was employed in the loan department of Keystone Bank.
Funeral service for Mrs. Meredith will be held Monday, September 30, 2013 at 11 AM at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. with Pastor William P. Glunt officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 6 to 8 PM.
