Obituary for Gary S. Magill

Gary S. Magill, age 63, of Sinking Valley died Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at his residence. He was born January 23, 1951 in Philipsburg, the son of Frank L. and Edith L. Fleck Magill Jr. He is survived by a daughter Heather Dulin, Reno, NV, a stepson Nick Anicito, Fort Pierce, FL, a brother Steven E. (Debbie) Magill, Sinking Valley, a niece Andrea (Nick) Stapleton, a nephew Scott Magill, a great nephew Kyle Stapleton and best friends Don (Leanna) Hardy.

Mr. Magill was a graduate of Tyrone High School Class of 1968 and had attended several trade schools. He had been employed in the Electrical Maintenance Department of the Altoona Water Authority. He had served in the U.S. armed forces.

Mr. Magill was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. He was an avid camper, an FCC lifetime member and a member of the Altoona Pistol Club. He enjoyed antique tractors and motorcycles, spending time with friends and he loved his dogs.

Funeral service with Military Honors for Gary S. Magill will be Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 11 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sinking Valley, with Pastor Kathy Colebank officiating. Interment will follow in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. on Friday from 6 to 9 PM and on Saturday at the church from 10 to 11 AM.

Contributions in Mr. Magill’s memory are requested to Home Nursing Agency Hospice, 201 Chestnut Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601.
