Obituary for Frances Mae Parsons

Frances Mae Parsons, age 95, formerly of State College and a guest at Colonial
Courtyard,Tyrone, died Friday, October 25, 2013. She was born July 7, 1918 in Warriors Mark , the
daughter of John (Doc) and Iva Hope McElvain Hillard. On July 22, 1960 at Arlington, VA she was
married to Robert (Bob) Parsons who died December 1991. She is survived by a son, Wesley (Garnet)
Trimble of Spruce Creek and daughter Mary Trimble Turner of Woodridge, VA , three grandchildren – Tina Westley, Tammy (Len) Rossi and Missy (Bob) Gensimore. Also surviving are seven great grandchildren, Tarynn Westley, Thadd Westley, Levi Reihart, Grace Gensimore, Isabella Rossi, Corina Rossi, Sophia Rossi, and two great grandchildren, Tyler Garner and Madilynn Beuchele. Also surviving are siblings Mary Hope Decker, State College and Ronald Lee (Nancy) Hillard, Marengo. She was preceded by four brothers – Clifford, Harrison, James and John Hillard.
Mrs. Parsons was a member of Pine Hall Lutheran Church, State College. She had worked at
Danks Department Store and O. W. Houts and retired in 1980 as the desk clerk at the Nittany Lion Inn,
The Pennsylvania State University after 26 years service. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and traveling.
Funeral service for Mrs. Parsons will be Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 12 P.M. at the Richard H.
Searer Funeral Home Inc. with Reverend Bernie Bookhammer. Interment will be in Centre County
Memorial Park, State College. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 until
the 12 noon service.
