Ellen M. Cushion, 90, of Tyrone, died Sunday July 6, 2014, at Tyrone Hospital.

She was born October 11, 1923 in Bellwood, the daughter of Claude and Edna (Laird) Lewis. On November 21, 1953 she married Steve Cushion Sr. at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Tyrone.

Surviving are her husband, Steve, of 60 years, a daughter Dolores Hook of Tyrone, 4 sons, Steve Jr. And wife Ann of Tyrone, Joe and wife Annette of Vail, James and wife Robin of Tyrone, and Richard and wife Lori of Altoona, 3 sisters, Janie McClellan of Tipton, Claudia Wilson of Petersburg, and Arlene Liddick of Bellwood, 2 brothers, Claude of Bald Eagle and Carl of Water Street, 9 grandchildren, Christina, Janelle, Todd, Nicholas, Katelynn, Matthew, Robby, Toni, and Sean, 14 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Orlando Taylor, who died while serving in WWII, 2 sisters, Dorothy Boytim and Martha Dubree and a great grandchild Carter.

She worked at Big Yank during WWII and also at Epworth Manor as a cook.

She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church.

She had served as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. Ellen was a devoted mothers, wife, and grandmother and enjoyed decorating cakes for all occasions.

Funeral Mass will be held Thursday July 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church with Fr. Jozef Kovacik celebrant. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends will be received at Feller Memorial Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
