Obituary for Catherine J. Diehl

Catherine J. Diehl, 86, Tyrone, died early Sunday morning at Epworth Manor.
She was born in Tyrone, daughter of John J. and Jennie Lewis Kobuck. She married Charles A. Diehl on Sept. 23, 1949, in Winchester, Va.
Surviving are her husband; three children: Linda (Ash) Weaver of Tyrone, Melanie (companion Frank Lardieri) Estright of Altoona and Chuck (Crystal) of Tyrone; five grandchildren: Jaime Lynch of State College, Angel (Nate) Harbst of Warriors Mark and Chris (Beth), Nick (Ashley) and Netti, all of Tyrone; four great-grandchildren: Jaidon and Emily Lynch and Jonathan and Sage Harbst; and three brothers: Richard (Louise) Kobuck of Delmont, Robert (Marjorie) Kobuck of Tyrone and Martin Kobuck of Newalla, Okla.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Lawrence, John and Terrance Kobuck.
Catherine was a 1945 graduate of Tyrone High School and a member of the Church of the Brethren. She had served as a Girl Scout leader for more than 20 years and had done a great deal of babysitting.
Catherine enjoyed collecting bells and milk glass objects and was a very good cook. She was very conscientious about remembering everyone's birthday and sending birthday cards. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved having everyone over for family night.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at Tyrone Church of the Brethren, with Pastor Jason Mauk officiating. Private interment will be at Blair Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
