Obituary for Beverly J. Brisbin (Rowand)

Beverly Jean Brisbin, 66, of Tipton died Friday January 8, 2016 at UPMC Altoona.

She was born March 21, 1949 in Chanute, Kansas and was raised in Topeka, Kansas a daughter of Benjamin and Edith Rowand. On April 7, 1973 in Topeka she married Samuel H. Brisbin.

Surviving are her husband, a sister Linda Root Coval, niece Sonya Cottr,ell , nephew Casey Root and wife Jessica, a great-niece Shelby , a great nephew Chase and six cousins all of Topeka, Kansas. Also surviving by marriage are her mother-in-law Betty Brisbin of Tyrone, a sister-in-law Debbie Castagnola and husband Nick of Tyrone, two brothers-in law Dick Wike and Dave Brisbin and wife Jody of Tyrone, ten nieces and nephews, sixteen great-nieces and nephews, two great-great nephews and a great-great niece.

Beverly attended Tipton Baptist Church and worked as a teacher’s aide at the Tipton Baptist School. She loved her job and the children.

She is a past member of Beta Sigma Phi and a past member of the Tyrone Business and Professional Woman’s Club where she served as past president.

Beverly loved her family, traveling, helping others, shopping, reading, music and her Shih Tzu Molly. She collected celebrity autographs of those she met. She and Sam traveled the U.S. and Japan while Sam served in the Air Force for 20 years living in Topeka where they met, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, Japan and San Antonio, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 12, 2015 at 11 A.M. at Tipton Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Woodring officiating. Interment will follow at Blair Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the Feller Memorial Home on Monday from 4 to 8 P.M. and on Tuesday at the church from 10 A.M. until the time of services.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Central Pa. Humane Society or to the Tipton Baptist Church.
