Obituary for Bette M. Yingling

Mrs. Bette M. Yingling, 92, of Tyrone, died Tuesday June 24, 2014 at 6:45 AM at UPMC Altoona. She was born Feb. 16, 1922 in Tyrone, the daughter of Tom and Bessie Port Sheckler and on March 16, 1942 was married to Jack L. Yinging who preceded her in death September 9, 2010. She is survived by a daughter, Vicky (Brian) Morrissey Fetterman, Tyrone and a son Thomas (Ann) Yingling, Summerville, SC. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Christopher Yingling, CA, Andy Yingling, Summerville, SC, Sean Morrissey, Tyrone, Cheyne Yingling, Bellwood, and 3 great grandchildren – Tatum, Cassidy, and Jackson. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Shirley Sheckler, Tyrone, and a special friend, Kim Russell. She was preceded in death by a son Timothy.
She was a graduate of Tyrone High School, Class of 1940, was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, of the Joy Sunday School Class and served on the Altar Guild. She and her husband loved to dance and enjoyed the Big Band sound. She had been employed at Lugg and Edmonds Dept. Store, at Gardner’s Candies and retired from Reliance Mfg. Co. as a machine operator.
Funeral service for Mrs. Yingling will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 2 PM at the Richard
H.Searer Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Fetterman officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1 to 2 PM.
