Obituary for Andrew E. Wengerd

Andrew E. Wengerd, age 49, of Tyrone died Friday, January 17, 2014 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born May 7, 1964 in Lewistown, the son of Eli M. and Mary Zook Wengerd. On November 1, 1984 at Big Valley, Belleville he was married to Nancy Peachey who survives. Also surviving are seven children – Mary and husband Jacob Peachey, Mattie and husband Jonas Peachey, Katie, Jesse, Henry, Eli and Nancy Wengerd and five grandchildren. He was preceded by two stillborn daughters. Also surviving are eleven brothers and sisters – Lydia and Isaac Yoder, Belleville, PA, Menno and Miriam Wengerd, Belleville, PA, Mattie and Noah Yoder, Allensville, PA; Joseph and Gertie Wengerd, Belleville, Mary and Joshua Swarey, Altoona, Fannie and Samuel Yoder, Beaver, OH, Lena and Tobias Kanagy, Belleville, Eli and Martha Wengerd, Tyrone, Sarah Kanagy at home, Sylvia and Albert Yoder, Beaver, OH, and John and Julia Wengerd, Belleville. A brother David preceded him in death.
Mr. Wengerd was a self-employed farmer and cabinet maker.
Funeral service for Mr. Wengerd will be at his residence, 203 Purple Martin Lane, Sinking Valley, Tyrone at 12 Noon on Monday, January 20, 2014.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc.
