William Abraham McLaughlin, 89 of Tyrone passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. He was born in Tyrone on October 12, 1934, the son of the late Andrew J. and Clarissa (Greene) McLaughlin. He is survived by a nephew: Andrew (Lisa) McLaughlin; a niece Denise (Jim) Davis; and several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded by a brother: John F. McLaughlin.

William was a 1952 graduate of Tyrone Area High School and a 1956 graduate of Penn State University where he received his bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. He worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as well as another private firm.

William enjoyed golf, basketball, baseball, and football. He was also a season sportspass holder for Tyrone football and basketball.

A 10 am graveside burial service will be held Monday, December 18, 2023, at Eastlawn Cemetery in Tyrone. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Tyrone High School Athletic Department, 1001 Clay Ave. Tyrone, PA 16686.
