William Lynn Hampton, Sr., 67 of Tyrone, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. He was born on January 22, 1959, in Tyrone, the son of the late Lester S. Hampton. On October 20, 1978, at Wesley United Methodist Church, he married Karen E. (Emight) Hampton who preceded him in death on August 25, 2022. He is survived by one son: William Lynn Hampton, Jr.; three grandchildren: Kaley, Aleena, and Will; and two brothers: Lester "Jake" P. Hampton Sr. and Robert L. (Holly Lynn) Hampton Sr.

He was a 1976 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. He was a carpenter by trade, working for Cornerstone Builders most recently but also was worked at his father's body shop growing up as well as Ray Burial Vault Company. He was a member of the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company as well as the McIntire Hunting Club.

Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sports. He was also an avid baseball player in his younger years.

Private services for William Lynn Hampton, Sr. will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc.
