Obituary

William "Bill" Ambrose III, passed away Friday morning at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Tipton, son of the late William E. II and Pearl M. (Weber) Ambrose.

Surviving is his sister, Diana L. Lykens, who was his caregiver for 32 years; nieces: Patti Roemer (Jeff), Rhoanda Inkrote, Mellissa Dinges (Scott); two great-nephews; and four great-nieces.

Bill was well known in the area for his straw cowboy hat, his large grin and his wave hello. He dedicated his life to working at DelGrosso Park for 40 years, and volunteered at the Tipton Fire Company No. 21 for 40 years. Bill loved music, TV, football games and his scanner and fire trucks. He enjoyed his family and getting friends together, and going to go to the fair.

Friends and family will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone; and from 11 a.m. until the service at noon Friday, June 3, 2022, at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
