Waneta M. (Mattern) Henderson, Warriors Mark, and a guest at Epworth Manor, Tyrone, died Friday. She was the daughter of the late Ryland and Lyda Hicks Mattern. On Jan. 21, 1951, she married Edwin P. Henderson at Arch Spring Presbyterian Church, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 1996. Surviving are a daughter, Cynthia DiAndrea; a son, Edwin Henderson; a granddaughter, Alexis Anne Henderson; a sister, Sylvia Thompson; and two sisters-in-law: Dorothy Glenn and Patsy Mattern. She was preceded by one infant daughter; and five siblings.

Waneta was a 1949 graduate of Warriors Mark High School. She was a member of the Spring Mount Church of the Brethren, the Warriors Mark Grange and the Warriors Mark Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, puttering around the house, crocheting and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and "granddogs." Waneta was loved by family, friends and neighbors alike.

A funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone.
