Virginia K.. Sprankle, 70, of Tyrone died Monday November 30, 2015 at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born September 2, 1945 in Bellefonte, a daughter of Samuel and Georgianna (McClincy) Broome. On January 29, 1966 in Bellefonte she married Luther H. Sprankle Sr.

Surviving are her husband, three sons, Luther II, Larry and wife Cristy and Terry and wife Jessica all of Tyrone, six grandchildren, Dustin M., Brian S., Noah L., Hayleigh E., Rebekah N. and Amariah A. Sprankle, two sisters Dorothy Clouser and husband Glenn of State College, Sharon Smith of Williamsport, two brothers Lee Broome of Kentucky, Samuel Broome of State College, a brother-in-law Jack Bonsell of Tipton and a sister-in-law Lois Sprankle of Tyrone. She was preceded in death by a grandson Christopher R. Sprankle, two sisters Jacqueline Reed and Juanita Bonsell, a brother Clair H. Broome, a daughter-in-law Carol Sprankle and a brother-in-law Richard E. Sprankle.

She enjoyed raising her grandchildren, hummingbirds and car rides through Sinking Valley. She always looked forward to the Broome family reunion.

Memorial services will be held Thursday December 3, 2015 at 11 A.M. at Feller Memorial Home with Pastor Roy Garthwaite officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 A.M. until the time of services.
