IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Virginia
Frantz
September 15, 1930 – June 8, 2025
Virginia (Boosey) Frantz passed away peacefully in her sleep very early on
Sunday, June 8, 2025. In the days preceding her death, she was frequently visited
by her children, close friends, and relatives who sat with her, played her music,
shared stories about their favorite times with her, and prayed with and for her.
Virginia was born in Tyrone on September 15, 1930. She was the youngest of the
six Schneider sisters who predeceased her, and she often talked in her last few
years about how much she missed them and looked forward to joining them in
heaven. She loved living at her home in Glen Lowrie, where she grew up, and was
fortunate enough to stay there until age 94, just a few short months before passing
away. She owned What to Wear in Philipsburg for many years, and after retiring
from the clothing industry, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and baking.
Throughout her life, she was a very active member of St. Matthew's parish. Her
faith was a keystone in her life, and she lived it daily.
Virginia was married to William E. Frantz (Bill) on July 7, 1951, who
predeceased her far too early in his short life. Together, they had three children,
and she is survived by all three: Peter Frantz, Sally Frantz-Roumanis, who is
married to Hunter Smith, and Matthew Frantz, who is married to Beth. She is also
survived by four of her five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren: Jennifer
Ufema (Jason) and her daughter Emma, Megan Fortney (Travis), who
predeceased her in 2023, and their daughters Ryleigh and Kaitlyn, Leah Van Ryen
(Mike) and their daughters Lanie and Molly, Nate Roumanis (Cristel), and
Alexandra Frantz. All children, whether her offspring or those of friends, were
always welcomed into "Nanny"; home. Her baked goods were legendary!
A 10:00 a.m. Mass and funeral service for Virginia Frantz will be held on
Monday, June 16, 2025, at St Matthew Catholic Church with Father Michael
Pleva officiating.
