Thomas Jackson Rumberger, 71, of Tyrone, passed away at home Monday. He was born at Huntingdon Hospital, son of the late Ralph T. and Edna Mae (Bollman) Rumberger Colyer.

On July 10, 1971, at the Tyrone Free Methodist Church, he married Karen Rodgers who survives.

Also surviving are two children: Joann (David) Moist and Thomas Jay (Danyel) Rumberger; eight grandchildren: Kyle Williams, Sage and Logan Rumberger, Kolten and Bryant Taylor, Courtney Beegle, and Damian (Leah) and Kierra Moist; two great-grandchildren, Ezekiel and Malachi Moist; a sister: Crystal (Barry) Herr; three nephews: Ridge, Kevin and Jared; a niece Sara; sister-in-law, Judy; and brother-in-law, Ray.

Tom was a 1969 graduate of Tyrone High School. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church for over 50 years. He retired from Westvaco in 2015 after 38 years as an electrical engineer. He was also previously employed at Juniata Packing as both a truck driver and salesman. He served honorably in the United States Army National Guard.

He was also a life member of the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company, and the Tyrone American Legion Post 281. He liked hunting and fishing, camping, boating, being outdoors, and his dogs and cats. He did a lot of woodworking and in his younger days he also enjoyed playing bugle in the Gardener Guards and riding motorcycles.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2023, at Feller Memorial Home, Tyrone; and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Wesley United Methodist Church, with Pastor Jeff Holland officiating.
