Thomas Wesley Decker, 80 of Tyrone, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023. He was born in Huntingdon on July 7, 1943, the son of the late Oscar Clayton and Betty Margaret (Robinson) Decker. He was married in Winchester, Virginia to Suzanne

(Osterhout) Decker who preceded him in death in 2014. He is survived by five daughters: Loni (Dan) Carper, Lynn (Eric) Daughenbaugh, Bobbie Jo (Justin) Decker, Wendy (Sean) Weyant, and Nicole (Stanley) Decker-Burke; nine grandchildren: Rachelle Denny, Kristopher Decker, Andrea (Timothy) McElwain, Jesse Daughenbaugh, Sierra Decker, Tyanne and Trinity Weyant, and Jacestan and Rylan Burke; and three brothers: Daniel, Gerald, and James Decker. He was preceded by three grandsons: David Denny Jr., Thomas Denny, and Tristan Burke; and two brothers: William and Stanley Joseph Decker.

Thomas was a 1962 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. He enlisted in the US Air Force and served during the Vietnam Conflict. After his tour in Vietnam he finished his service at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota where he enjoyed rodeoing and riding bulls. He worked for the Penn Central Railroad, Conrail, and Norfolk Southern as a welder and boilermaker.

He was a member of the Port Matilda American Legion, and he loved hunting, NASCAR, and watching the trains.

A 2 pm funeral service for Thomas Wesley Decker will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023 at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home with Scott Sessamen officiating. Friends will berecieved on Monday from noon until the time of service at the funeral home. Private interment will be made at Bald Eagle Cemetery. Contributions in his memory may be made to the American Legion.
