Sylvia (Mattern)Thompson passed away on April 23, 2025, at Cedarwood ALF.

She was 92 years of age.

Sylvia was the daughter of William Ryland Mattern and Lyda Mae (Hicks) Mattern.

She was married to Gerald L.Thompson in June of 1951 at the Spring Mount Church of the Brethren.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, and son, Jerry Thompson, sisters, Jessica Geist, Barbara Gensimore, Louise Foust, Waneta Henderson, and brothers William Ryland Mattern and James Mattern.

She is survived by her children Jeff (Sandy) Thompson, Lori Thompson-Given (Scott), granddaughter, Hannah (Orry) (Thompson) Corman, great grandson Liam, daughter-in-law Mary Louise Thompson and also multiple favorite nieces and nephews.

Sylvia was a homemaker. She enjoyed her family, friends, and reading her Bible along with her daily devotions. She was a former member of the Spring Mount Church of the Brethren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 10 am until the time of service. An 11 am funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Feller Memorial Home with Pastor Rob Davis officiating.

Internment will be at the Graysville Cemetery in Spruce Creek.
