Susan
Cole
Nov 26, 1962 — Sep 5, 2026
Susan Cole, 63 of Tyrone, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, September 5, 2026. She was born on November 26, 1962, in Harvey, Illinois, the daughter of the late John "Jack" Heuser and Nancy (Gailey) Heuser who survives. Also surviving are two children: Harleigh and Joshua Cole; two brothers: Keith and David Heuser; her nieces and nephews (along with their children); and her significant other: Dennis Hamm. She was preceded in death by one brother: Bill Heuser.
Susan was a 1980 graduate of Colonial Heights High School in Virginia. She worked as a Direct Support Professional for individuals with intellectual disabilities. This spilled out into her personal life as she had a strong compassion to take care of people and was always helping others. One memory comes to mind of her inviting a homeless man (at another table in the restaurant eating a free salad) to eat dinner with her family, buying him a real meal, and everyone chatting/laughing. That is just one example of the light she brought to the world and those around her.
She was a musician and played the piano and violin. She loved music, especially Aerosmith and attended their farewell tour, which is one of the many concerts attended with her daughter. She was an avid movie watcher and collector. She enjoyed reading and loved collecting cookbooks from different areas she traveled to for new recipes to try. She enjoyed traveling (especially with her kids) and going to the beach. Her son recently took her on a trip to Chicago and the area where she grew up which she very much enjoyed. She was a great cook and loved Thanksgiving because it combined two of her passions: cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh with loved ones. She also loved animals, specifically her two granddogs: Little Dude and Chloe. She was blessed with and loved her Bonus Children: Katherine Weiser, Tessa Marrapode, Kaitlyn Ruiz, Samuel Ruiz, and Butch Neidig.
A special "hello and love you" to her friends and family as they were all very important to her. Since she was such a light of a person and had so many that care about her and vice versa, there are too many names to list here, but please know you were loved.
A celebration of life the "Susan Way" will be held at the convenience of the family. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Central PA Humane Society.
