Susan I. Blaska, 76 of Tyrone, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026. She was born in Tyrone, on July 30, 1949, the daughter of the late Edwin and Madeline (Reese) Igou. On July 27, 1974, at the First Lutheran Church she married Mike Blaska who preceded her in death on February 12, 2008. She is survived by two children: Christopher (Carol) Blaska and Kendra (Shane) Grassmyer; four grandchildren: Allie Blaska, Alexa Beyer, and Shane M. and Connor Grassmyer; one sister-in-law: Cathy Igou; and one brother-in-law: Pete (Dawn) Blaska. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Danny, Steve, and Rob Igou, and was the last of her immediate family.

She was a 1967 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. She retired from Tyrone Area Elementary School as a paraprofessional in 2014. Susan was a lifetime member of the Tyrone YMCA until its closure. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

A 6 pm funeral service for Susan I. Blaska will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, will be held at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home. Friends will be received from 4 pm until the time of the service. Private interment will be made at Grandview Cemetery Tyrone.
