Caroline "Sue" Gates, formally Sue Cassady, entered into Eternal rest surrounded by her loving husband and sons. Sue was born October 11, 1944 in Altoona, PA. Preceded in death by her loving father Robert Cassady and beloved mother Jacqueline (Truitt) Cassady. Also was preceded by her brother Robert Cassady.

Sue spent many years as a cheerleading coach at her alma mater, Tyrone High School. She was a devoted police officer, but her passion was caring for others as a nurse at Epworth Manor and the Grier school, both located in Tyrone, PA.

Sue retired and found love again with her husband Will, who devoted the last 15 months of his life by her side, caring for her.

Sue is survived by two sons, and two daughters, Danielle Christine Henry, Douglas (Susan) Henry, Debra (Scott) Hughes, and Mark Mitchell. Sue was grandmother to Kaila, Trevor, Parker, Preston, Paige, Payton, Paxton, Brandon, Brittney and Brooke; and one great grandchild and their loving dog thunder. She is also survived by her stepmother, Lois Cassady.

Sue Request there will be no viewing, a Memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 7pm, and a visitation be held from 5-7pm and Richard H. Searer Funeral Home. Contributions can be made to the Humane society in Blair county.
