Shirley A. Rhoades, 96, Tyrone, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025.

She was born in Tyrone, daughter of the late William Curtis and Marguerite (Moffit) Rinker. On March 20, 1948, at the Fuoss Mills Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, she married Charles A. Rhoades Sr., who preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 2013.

Surviving are three children: Karen Fogliano of Vero Beach, Fla., Charles "Chuck" Allen Rhoades Jr. of Port Orange, Fla. and Connie Jo Boots of Hamden Conn.; three grandchildren: Jordan Boots in Connecticut, Kevin "Bo" Rhoades in Florida and Tabitha Rhoades in Illinois; two great-grandchildren, Adelyn Smollen and Walden Boots; and a brother, William Rinker.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Nicole Smollen and James Cochrane.

Shirley was a 1946 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School. She was a member of Fuoss Mills Christian and Missionary Alliance Church for over 80 years before the church closed its doors. She was deeply devoted to her church as a pianist and organist as well as singing. She was a member of the Alliance Women's Auxiliary and served in many other capacities at the church.

She loved cooking, baking, and canning. She was a wonderful homemaker and her family was her deepest love, they meant everything to her.

Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, and from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, at the funeral home, where a funeral service will be held at noon.

Contributions in Shirley's memory may be made to a local Salvation Army of the donor's choice.
