Shirley Goss McMonagle, 89 of Port Matilda, passed away on Wednesday July 23, 2025. She was born in Tyrone, on January 16, 1936, a daughter of the late Alvah Clifton and Laura May (Dillon) Goss. Married to Dewey C. McMonagle who survives, they would have celebrated 70 years of marriage on July 30. Also surviving are four children: Dewey "Alan" (Nancy Robison) McMonagle, Rodney Steven (Mary) McMonagle, Laurie (David) Dengate, and Amy (Mike) Merritt; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a brother Joseph Goss. She was preceded by one brother and several sisters.
She was a 1955 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. She spent her life farming with her husband and family on their farm. She was a member of Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Philipsburg and was very involved with the church and her church family.
She enjoyed sewing but most of all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
An 11 am funeral service for Shirley Goss McMonagle will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Abundant Life Fellowship Church, 102 Fairway Dr. Philipsburg, PA 16866, with Reverend Dean Krause officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 7-9 pm and on Tuesday from 10 am until the time of service. Private interment will be made at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Port Matilda. Arrangements are under the care of the Feller Memorial Home.
