Shirley A. Cunningham, 89 of Altoona passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025. She was born in Philipsburg on September 10, 1935, the daughter of the late James and Violet (Reynolds) Cunningham. She is survived by her sister Linda with whom she resided; as well as many nieces and nephews from both her extended and immediate family including: Patti, Pam, Gene, Shaun, Debbie, Rick, Heidi, Lois, Mary Lou, Ashley; and all the wonderful friends and neighbors she has made over the years, including those most recently of Graystone, all of whom were like family to her.

Shirley proudly served in the US Army intelligence division in Japan. When she came home she went to work for Puritan/Warnaco Sportswear as an inspector until her retirement 39 years later.

In her younger years she and Linda enjoyed camping, fishing, motorcycle riding, and bowling. Later she went on to enjoy Steelers, Penn State, and Bills games, cooking, jigsaw puzzles, and difficult crosswords.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the ladies like Robin and Tara and all the other wonderful ladies of UPMC Home Health & Hospice, who made her last days more bearable.

At Shirley's adamant "desires" a private viewing will be held for family only. Friends are invited to a 12:00 pm committal service at the chapel at Blair Memorial Park on Saturday, June 28, 2025, with military honors.
