Shelly Ann Merritts, 68, of Tyrone, passed away Monday. She was born in Tyrone, the daughter of James Merritts and Genevieve Williams (Burd).

She was preceded in death by her former husband and lifelong companion, Jeffrey "Tiny" Laird Sr.; and sister, Peggy Miller.

Shelly is survived by her brother, Dean Williams; three children: Jeffrey Laird Jr., Kerrie Laird and Stacie Laird; nine grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters.

She was a 1975 graduate of Tyrone Area High School, and worked first as a CNA before retiring in 2022 from Save a Lot after 12 years of service.

Shelly had a love for cardinals, puzzles, crocheting and baking. Her talent and creativity will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Funeral services for Shelly Ann Merrits will be held at the convenience of the family.
