Sharon D. Lykens, 61 of Altoona, died Monday August 5, 2019 at UPMC Altoona. She was born on March 31, 1958, the daughter of the late Victor and Catherine (Murray) Lykens. Sharon is survived by two brothers: Victor R. and Daniel Leroy Lykens; and two sisters: Susan Rickabaugh and Deborah Ann. She was preceded by her daughter: Catherine Christine; one sister Sandra Lee; one brother: Ronald Dean; two nephews: Joe Jr and Robert Leroy; and her significant other: Vernon "Hap" Nycum.

Sharon worked for many years doing housekeeping and custodial work for several local hospitals, banks and businesses. She also devoted herself to being a full-time caregiver to her mother and to "Hap" while also helping to care for her nephews, Joe and Robert.

A memorial service for Sharon Lykens will be held at a later date at the convenience of her family. Contributions in Sharon's memory may be made to the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. 115 W 10th St. Tyrone, PA 16686.
