Samuel J. Cannistraci, 91 of Tyrone, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 19, 2023. He was born on September 11, 1932, in Tyrone, a son of the late Salvatore and Margaret (Johnson) Cannistraci. He is survived by two sisters: Joyce (Cannistraci) Stocks of Greenville, NC and Betty (Cannistraci) Moore of Port Matilda; three brothers: John, James, and Frank Cannistraci all of Tyrone. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Andrew, Joseph, Charlie, and Robert Cannistraci; and one sister: Rosa Dora (Cannistraci) Gurekovich.

Sam was a 1950 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. Following graduation he worked until retirement at the Chicago Rivet and Machine Company in the header department. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Sam was a lifetime member of the Tyrone Sportsman Club and was on the trap shooting team. Sam also spent significant time with his special friends, the Gardner family.

Funeral services for Samuel J. Cannistraci will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of Feller Memorial Home.
