Ruth E. Haynes, 100, of Sinking Valley died Friday January 10, 2020 at UPMC Altoona.

She was born November 18, 1919 in Hollidaysburg, a daughter of John R. and Sarah J. (Frederick) Zimmers. On November 22, 1941 in Cumberland, Maryland she married Denzel L. Haynes. He died July 3, 1984.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son William and a daughter Helen.

She was the oldest member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sinking Valley.

Ruth enjoyed card clubs, baking and gardening.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 15, 2020 at 11 A.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Karen Ward officiating. Interment will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Friends will be received at Feller Memorial Home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 P.M. at at the church on Wednesday from 10 A.M. until the time of services.
