Russell E. Reed, 65, of Tyrone, passed away Thursday. He was born in Parkersburg, W. Va., the son of the late William E. Reed and Nellie L. Piggott. On Mar. 7, 1980, he married Mary Noye in Winchester, Va.

He is survived by his wife; his son, William "Rusty" Reed (Jennifer), grandchildren: Staff Sgt Robert Sellers and Lilly Marie Reed; brothers: Micheal, Randal and Thomas Reed; and several nieces and nephews.

Russell was a boiler tech in the U.S. Navy for 24 years and then worked for SCI Huntingdon for another ten years, before retiring. He was a member of the Tyrone American Legion 281 and the NRA. Russell enjoyed riding on his Harley Davidson trike, and he also loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter.

There will be military honors held for Russell at 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, at the park across from Tyrone American Legion, 1459 Lincoln Ave, Tyrone, PA 16686.
