Robert "Bob" H. Tower, age 71, of Tyrone, passed away on Friday May 8 th , 2026, at
home. He was born June 23, 1954, in Philipsburg, a son of Russell L. Tower and Vivian
L. (Lewis) Tower.
Bob is survived and missed by his loving wife Rachelle C. (Beery) Tower of 44 years
and a daughter, Renee C. Tower-Anderson (Robert) New Jersey; two sisters Beverly L.
(Tower) Moskol of Altoona, Carol A. Tower of Sandy Ridge; three grandchildren Vivian
Tower, Caleb Tower, and Colton Anderson. four nephews and one niece. He is
preceded in death by his sister Barbara Jane (Tower) Drass.
He retired in January 2008 from Pennsylvania State Police as a mechanic following 33 years
of service.
Bob found the greatest joy in the thrill of the ride, finding peace and freedom on the
open road, clocking countless miles with numerous different motorcycles. He had
various hobbies throughout the years. He was an active member of the Cartwright
Hunting Club and the Tyrone Sportsman Club. In his younger more active years, he
would jump through obstacle courses in I.P.S.C. Speed Shooting. He also dressed like
John Wayne in an old style western and used a single action revolver in a style called
Cowboy Shooting. Bob had a deep respect for history and brought the past to life when
he was an active WWII re-enactor. He would search for lost relics at flea markets and
showcase them like a museum. From the local quarries to the shipwrecks deep in the
oceans, he would don a scuba suit searching for lost treasures. He was an avid reader
who loved to delve into the vast unknowns of sci-fi and into strategies of military fiction.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
