Robert K. McCahan, 87, of Tyrone died Saturday April 23, 2016 at his residence.

He was born October 24, 1928 in Tyrone, a son of Earle and Annie (Miller) McCahan. On June 10, 1956 in Winchester, Virginia he married Jeanne Butterbaugh. She died April 30, 2009.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Kathy Kimble and husband Woody of Opelousas, Louisiana, Jennifer McCahan of Laguna Beach, California, 3 sons, Dave and wife Connie of Tyrone, Jim of Exeter, New Hampshire, Dan and wife Patti of Charlotte, North Carolina, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a brother Jerry M. and wife Alberta of Tyrone.

Mr. McCahan retired in 1987 from IBM, Tampa Florida as a computer specialist following 35 years service.

He was a member of the Howard Gardner American Legion. He had received a associate degree from PSU Altoona.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He enjoyed his family and grandchildren and was an avid photographer.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 27, 2016 at 2 P.M. at Feller Memorial Home with Rev. Norman E. Huff officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery, Tyrone. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 noon until the time of services. The Tyrone Honor Guard will accord veteran's honors at the service.
