Robert Joseph Diehl Jr., 75, of Tyrone, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 9, 2023. He was born in Altoona on September 4, 1947, the son of the late Robert J. and Thelma (Dixon) Diehl Sr. on February 14, 2005 he married Alice Brower who survives. Also surviving are five children: Kevin (Mindy) Diehl, Alice Smith, Ken (Diane) Colpetzer all of Tyrone, Sherry (Marcus) Johnson of Statesville, NC, and Jody (Randy) Flythe of Lasker, NC; 15 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren, and a sister: Mary Louise Thompson of Lancaster. He was preceded by a brother in law: Gerald Thompson.

Robert was a 1966 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. He was a member of the Tyrone Church of the brethren, the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company, and the Beach Creek American Legion. He retired from Kunzlers where he worked on the bacon line, he also worked as a Tyrone School District crossing guard and as a parking attendant for PSU football games.

He enjoyed woodworking, fly fishing, hunting, and walking in the park. He was also a huge Michigan football fan.

A 7 pm funeral service for Robert Joseph Diehl Jr will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Feller Memorial Home with Tom Templeton officiating.
