Richard J. "Dick" Woomer Jr., 61 of Tyrone, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021. He was born in Tyrone on July 22, 1959 the son of the late Richard J. and Janet (Reese) Woomer Sr.. On November 1, 2014 he married Peggy Walk who survives. Also surviving are three children: Jessica Decoste, Jennifer Woomer, Jeffrey Woomer; one step-son: Brad Wolfe; three grandchildren: Rhyleigh, Bella, and Liliana; and one sister: Wendy (Steve) Grot. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Kevin and Jeff Woomer.

Dick was a 1977 graduate of Tyrone High School. He previously worked for WestVaco Paper Mill and G&R Excavating and was currently employed as a driver for Espy Transport LLC. He was also a member of the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially ice fishing, as well as boating, mud races, and spending time in the woods feeding the wildlife.

A 7:00 pm funeral service for Richard J. Woomer Jr. will be held on Monday May 10, 2021 at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. with Lori Brobeck officiating. Friends will be received on Monday from 5 pm until the time of the 7 pm service. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602.
