Richard A. "Rick" Miles Sr., 69 of Tyrone, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024. He was born in Altoona on March 22, 1955, the son of the late Elmer and Edith (Anderson) Miles. On July 12, 1975 in Petersburg, PA he married Kathy (Dick) Miles who survives. Also surviving are three children: Andy (Casey), Chad (Marie), and April (Sheldon) Miles; four grandchildren: Kaleb, Mariah, Remington, and Alexus; a sister: Barbara (Tim) Rhoades; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded by a brother: Robert L. Miles.

Rick was a 1974 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. He was a custodian in the Tyrone School District for 24 years before retiring in 2002. He was also attending the Bible Baptist Church in Tyrone. He was a member of the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company as well as the Tyrone Fire Police.

He coached many youth sports, and was also a youth group leader. He enjoyed hunting and going fishing on the boat. He enjoyed watching the Pirates, Steelers, and NASCAR. He also loved to go to the beach, go camping with the kids, and watching his grandchildren play sports and most of all spending any time he could with them.

A 3 pm celebration of life service will be held at Grace Baptist Church on Friday, May 10, 2024, with Pastor Ken Patterson officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 1 pm until the time of service. Contributions in Rick's memory may be made to Bible Baptist Church Tyrone, 1455 Hamilton Avenue, Tyrone, PA 16686.
