Richard L. "Rick" Hoover, 73 of Tyrone, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2026. He was born in Altoona on July 9, 1952, a son of the late Richard E. and Phylis (Kooken) Hoover. On March 23, 1974, in Tyrone, he married Jennifer (Noel) Hoover who survives. Also surviving is his son: Jason (Tara) Hoover; and brother: Greg (Beth) Hoover. He was preceded by his son: Justin Hoover on June 15, 2020.

Rick was a 1970 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. He served and was honorably discharged from the US Air Force in 1974. He retired from Norfolk Southern, formerly Conrail, as an electrician and was with the railroad for over thirty years. He was also a member of Deepwell Hunting Camp.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his "Poochie", Bella.

An 11 am memorial service for Richard L. "Rick" Hoover will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. with pastor Ben Hoover officiating. Friends will be received on Monday, January 19, .2026, at the funeral home from 5-7 pm as well as on Tuesday from 10 am until the time of service.
