Richard L. "Butch" Johnson Sr., 79 of Altoona, passed away on March 14, 2026. He was born in Altoona on April 28, 1946, a son of the late Lawrence Robinson and Geneva Grace Johnson. He is survived by his son, Richard L. Johnson Jr.

Richard was a graduate of Altoona Area High School and honorably served in the United States Army, enlisting on October 28, 1965, and achieving the rank of Specialist 4 before his discharge on October 9, 1967. His dedication to service continued in his civilian life, where he retired as a respected security guard for the City of Harrisburg.

At his request there will be no public services held.
