Richard Philip Horton, 71 of Tyrone and formerly of Frederick, MD and Greenwich, CT passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. He was born in Greenwich, CT on May 2, 1951, the son of the late William F. and Doris Hawley (Norton) Horton. He was previously married to Jill (MacDonald) Horton who survives. Also surviving are three daughters: Tara Leith (Mel) Faulconer of Maryland, Valerie Candee (Christopher) Morroni of Tyrone, and Abigail Edith (Ross) Nilles of Texas; two brothers: Robert and Tom Horton; and 12 grandchildren: Josh, Ian, Riley, Philip, Lillian, Olivia, Mariella, Letham, Angel, Tucker, Jack, and Susan. He was preceded in death by two siblings: Barbara Gorman and Brian Horton.

Richard was a 1969 graduate of Greenwich High School and worked as a purchaser and store manager for Hartmarx and Raleighs. He enjoyed traveling, water skiing, music and movies, and his horse hobby farm. He loved telling stories of his time at Woodstock and  youthful adventures, and would always greet a stranger with a smile and conversation. Richard cared deeply for his family and friends.
