Petruncio
June 2, 1935 – July 19, 2024
Raymond Petruncio, 89, of Altoona, originally from McAdoo and Quakake, PA, passed away on Friday July 19, 2024. Born in Hazleton, PA on June 2, 1935 to the late Paul Patruncio and Mary Mezlo. In 1956 he married Alvena Mae Longenberger, who preceded him in 2003.
Surviving are Children, Joseph (Kathy), James (Late Angela), Donna Petruncio and Deborah Hummel; grandchildren, Timothy, Susan, Jim, Corey, Eric and Jason; and 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by brothers Alvin (Al), and Theodore (Ted) Roulinavage.
He was a veteran of the Navy where he learned his skills, and grew his interest in electrical work. Raymond was a Beryllium employee, then worked as a State Corrections Officer in Dallas, Pa in Luzerne County. Raymond was Hazleton's Civil Air Patrol Warrant Officer Raymond Petruncio, a certified rifle marksmanship instructor for the National Rifle Association of America, and was a past president of Hazleton Penn Rod and Gun Club.
Raymond had a collection of stamps, coins and matchboxes from all over. He enjoyed woodworking and carpentry. He was always moving and keeping busy with projects in the house or tending to the garden, no matter what time it was.
There will be a private military service at Sky-View Memorial Park in Tamaqua, PA, August 2, 2024 at 12pm
