Ralph James (Jim) Beck Jr., Sinking Valley, age 84, died Friday, August 18, 2017 at his home. He was born May 30, 1933 in Sinking Valley, the son of Ralph and Esther Fox Beck Sr. On July 15, 1954 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church he was married to Joan Williams who survives. Also surviving are three children, Bruce A. and R. James Beck III and Dayonne K. Beck.

Mr. Beck was a 1952 graduate of Tyrone High School followed by one year in college. He was a veteran of service in the air force during the Korean War. He had been self employed as a dairy farmer at Becksview Farm and had been a 25 year member of the Maryland Virginia Milk Co-op. He enjoyed riding his Kubota around Sinking Valley and greeting his neighbors and liked visiting with all his farming friends from all over North America. Mr. Beck spent his winters in Brownsville, TX at Palm Resaca Park playing golf, cards and marbles and visiting with all his farming friends. He volunteered for 30 years building and maintaining a church in Matamoris, Mexico.

Funeral service with military honors for Ralph James (Jim) Beck Jr. will be Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 11 AM at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sinking Valley with Pastor Karen Telyea officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 10 to 11 AM prior to the service.
