Phyllis L. Hoover, 90 of Tyrone, and a guest of Epworth Manor, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023. She was born on November 8, 1932, in Stormstown, the daughter of the late Charles and Thelma (Gill) Kooken. On September 21, 1950, in Tyrone, she married Richard E. Hoover who preceded her in death on July 25, 2016. She is survived by two sons: Rick (Jennifer) and Greg (Beth) Hoover of Tyrone; four grandchildren: Jason (Tara) of Sewickley, Brandon of Altoona, Brady of BelleVernon, and Tyler of Tyrone; and three great-grandchildren: Liam, Landon, and Addison. She was preceded by a grandson: Justin Hoover; and a sister: Delores Perry.

Phyllis was a 1950 graduate of Tyrone High School. She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd Tyrone. She was formerly employed by Ziffs Department Store.
