Paulette Mae Updike, 75 of Tyrone, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023. She was born in Grazierville on January 29, 1948, the daughter of the late Albert and Margaret (Riggleman) Fleck Sr. On May 8 she married Richard Updike Sr., who preceded her in death in 1990. She is survived by two children: Richard Updike Jr. (Virginia Huddleston) and Brenda Bennett; five grandchildren: Angel (Colt), Ashley (DJ), Jessy, Samantha Jo, and Jeannie; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded by two sons: Robert Lee Barr Jr. and George Washington Barr; and siblings: Cindy Supina, Margaret White, Albert Fleck Jr., and Julie Petite. She was the last of her immediate family.

Before retirement she worked as a caretaker. She was a member of the Moose Club, a social member of the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Volunteer Fire Company, and the Tyrone American Legion.

She loved to spend time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed watching unsolved mysteries, going to reservoir park and Raystown, and going out to eat.

A 4 pm funeral service for Paulette Mae Updike will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023, at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. with pastor Ken Patterson officiating. Friends will be received from 2 pm until the time of the service. Contributions in Paulette's memory may be made to the care of the funeral home.
