Reverend P. William "Bill" Glunt, 79 of Tyrone passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025. He was born in McKeesport, PA on August 9, 1945, a son of the late Paul Wesley and Rachel Grace (Hamm) Glunt. On January 5, 1974, in Williamsport, PA he married Donna (Lenington) Glunt who survives. Also surviving are two children: Charity (Josh) Phillips, and Matthew (Wendy) Glunt; five grandchildren: Sierra, Jenna, Jakob, Christopher, and Quintienn; two great-grandchildren: Shadow and Rowena; and three siblings: Donna Stone, and David and Ray Glunt. He was preceded in death by two siblings: Joan Vanorsdale and Lenny Glunt.
Bill was a 1963 graduate of McKeesport High School. After high school he attended Penn Tech in Pittsburgh and Zion Bible Institute in Providence, RI. He devoted his life to ministry and served as a traveling evangelist from '70-'72, a youth pastor in Williamsport from '72-'74, and was a senior pastor with the Assemblies of God in Midland from '74-'82, Warren from '82-'92, and Tyrone from '92 until his retirement in 2016.
He was a current member of Abundant Life Assembly of God as well as a member of the Horseshoe Curve Amateur Radio Club. While in Midland and Warren he and his wife volunteered with the Salvation Army Service Unit. He enjoyed ham radio, woodworking, and loved Lionel model trains. Bill was also known for his great sense of humor. He loved people and lived to serve the Lord and direct people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
A 4 pm funeral service for Reverend P. William Glunt will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. with Reverend Herb Wireback officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 1pm until the time of service. Private interment will be made at Bald Eagle Cemetery.
