Patricia J. Houser, 84 of Tyrone, passed away on June 4, 2025. She was born in Lewisberry, PA on December 24, 1940, a daughter of the late William and Mary (Conley) Deardorff Jr. On November 26, 1991, she married Richard L. Houser who preceded her in death on February 8, 1994. Patricia is survived by three children: Robert "Bobby" (Lori) Stauffer Jr., Sharon Fawks, and James "Jimmy" Stauffer; seven grandchildren: Robby and Stephanie Stauffer, Jake and Max Byerly, and CJ, Jarret, and Dillan Wadsworth; 10 great-grandchildren: Tyler and Aydin Youngblood, Ryder Stauffer, Dayne and Jaxon Stauffer, Madelyn and Jackson Byerly, and Otto, Jordan, and Amelia Wadsworth; and one brother: William Deardorff III. She was preceded by two daughters: Patricia "Patty" Byerly and Mary Wadsworth; a sister: Florence Anderson; and first husband: Robert Stauffer Sr.
Patricia was a member of Bald Eagle United Methodist Church. She worked as an in-home elder care aide for Griswold Specialty Care before embarking on a career in the field on her own.
She liked flowers and was an avid gardener. She also enjoyed watching the hummingbirds and doing puzzles. She loved traveling to the Smokey Mountains and going to Dollywood. She loved her family most of all and is described by her children as being the strongest woman they knew, a fighter, hard worker, and amazing mother.
A 1 pm funeral service for Patricia J. Houser will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Bald Eagle United Methodist Church. Friends will be received at the church from 11 am until the time of service. Interment will be held privately at Bald Eagle Cemetery. Contributions in Patricia's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family would also like to thank UPMC Family Hospice for their professionalism and care.
