Newton L. Gibson, age 82, of Tyrone died Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Epworth Manor. He was born August 12, 1933 in Tyrone, the son of Newton E. and Dorothy Schnellbach Gibson. He is survived by three sisters, Jeannine and Bonnie Gibson, both of Tyrone and Sherry (Vernon) Dublin, Altoona and five nieces and nephews, Frank A. Germino, Warriors Mark, Theresa Smith, Tyrone, and David, Missy and Colleen Dublin, all of Altoona. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Beverly Owens.

Mr. Gibson was a graduate of Tyrone High School, Class of 1952 and was a veteran of service in the U.S. Army. He retired from the maintenance department of Chicago Rivet and Machine Company after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4559, and a life member of the NRA and the Tyrone Sportsmen. He was an avid bowler and photographer.

Mr. Gibson requested that his body be donated to the Humanity Gifts Registry of Pennsylvania.
